Winemakers in Argentina

Many small family-owned wineries still remain in North-West Argentina. Since they’re producing wine they’ll be drinking themselves with family or friends; or as a result of conviction; or sometimes since they simply don’t have the means to buy them, some of these small producers use no chemicals, neither in their vineyards, nor in their cellars.

The result is artisanal wine – a kind of ‘garage wine’, natural, alive. Some of the producers – those closer to the market and to its fads – call it ‘organic wine’. Others care less about labels than they do about tradition and quality.
